Overview

Primary Teacher Assistant. Contract Type: Full time, Part time and Supply. Start Date: Immediately. We are currently seeking an experienced Teacher Assistant to join our supportive and dynamic team in Islington. The role is ideal for someone who has a passion for working with students, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and is looking for a flexible opportunity. This position can be full-time, part-time, or supply, offering a variety of schedules to suit the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students, particularly those with SEN.
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and activities tailored to the needs of individual students.
  • Support the emotional and social development of students, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
  • Help students with SEN to develop essential skills and promote their independence in class.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Assist with classroom management and ensure a positive, safe learning environment.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to different teaching styles and student needs.
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development of young people with diverse learning needs.
  • Enhanced DBS check required (or willingness to obtain one).
Desirable Qualifications
  • Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (Level 2 or 3).
  • Experience working in a classroom setting with SEN students.
  • Understanding of various SEN needs such as Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, etc.
