Primary Teaching Assistant – KS2 (Year 5) – Bournemouth, Dorset

Are you passionate about supporting children’s learning and development in the classroom? GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistant (TA) to join a supportive KS2 Year 5 class in a welcoming primary school in Bournemouth. This is a full-time position starting in September 2025. Prior experience supporting children is essential for this role. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a school tour prior to the formal interview process. Interviews are scheduled to take place in the coming weeks.

Responsibilities:

• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons tailored to the KS2 curriculum.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils, helping to reinforce learning objectives.
• Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Encourage pupils' confidence, independence, and social development within the school day.
• Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff.
• Contribute to the overall wellbeing and behaviour management of pupils in the classroom.

Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting is essential.
• A genuine passion for education and supporting young learners.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude toward pupil development.
• Availability for a school tour and formal interview process as part of the recruitment.
• An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one through GSL Education.
