Location: Barnsley, South Yorkshire
Salary: £85 – £100 per day

Are you passionate about education and keen to support young learners in reaching their full potential? GSL Education is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teaching Assistants to work in schools across Barnsley. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who want to make a real impact on pupils’ learning and development in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
Key Responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to help pupils stay engaged and make progress.
Assist class teachers in delivering interactive and differentiated lessons.
Support children with SEN, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs.
Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Encourage pupil participation, independence, and confidence.
Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and school activities.
Requirements for a Primary Teaching Assistant:
Experience working with primary-aged children (in schools, tutoring, or childcare settings).
A good understanding of SEN, Autism, ADHD, and behaviour management strategies is desirable.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to supporting young learners.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team or independently when required.
An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.
