Job summary

TipTopJob is assisting a welcoming Catholic primary school in West London to appoint an enthusiastic Religious Education Lead. You will lead, develop and monitor RE across the school, ensuring a faith-based curriculum that supports students academically, socially and spiritually, in partnership with the Headteacher, parish and Diocese.

The role involves sustaining strong RE provision, embedding Catholic values school-wide, and supporting prayer, liturgy and mission within a dynamic Catholic

Qualifications

• QTS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• At least three years teaching experience within a Catholic school.
• A strong track record of excellent teaching and learning.
• A secure understanding of Religious Education and the ability to inspire both pupils and colleagues.
• Experience of assessment, monitoring and evaluating pupil progress.
• The ability to lead and support colleagues effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A strong understanding of safeguarding and inclusion.
• A commitment to your own professional development.
• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, colleagues, parish and Diocese.

Responsibilities

• Leading and developing Religious Education across the school.
• Monitoring teaching, planning, assessment and pupil progress in RE.
• Supporting colleagues through guidance, modelling, CPD and high:quality resources.
• Ensuring curriculum coverage, continuity and progression in line with Diocesan requirements.
• Supporting the prayer and liturgical life of the school, including Masses, assemblies, liturgies, retreats and mission.
• Contributing to school improvement planning and the ongoing development of RE.
• Liaising with the Diocese, parish and relevant external partners.
• Supporting the preparation for Catholic school inspection and providing evidence of the quality of RE provision.
• Promoting pupils moral, ethical and religious understanding and helping them to develop as responsible citizens.

The Role
