We are currently recruiting on behalf of a thriving, inclusive primary school for a full-time KS1 Class Teacher to join their team in September.

The Role

In this KS1 Primary Teacher role, you will take full class teaching responsibility, most likely in Year 2. This is a permanent position (with flexibility for temp-to-perm if needed) and offers scope for additional responsibility depending on your subject specialism or area of interest. The school is seeking a confident, reflective practitioner with a minimum of two years’ experience, who can make a meaningful contribution to the team.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
  • Monitor pupil progress and implement effective strategies for attainment
  • Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture where all children thrive
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues
  • Contribute to whole-school development through subject leadership or wider responsibilities
  • Support EAL learners through differentiated teaching and targeted support
  • Take part in regular CPD and staff collaboration to improve outcomes

You must hold QTS and have strong experience across KS1, along with a caring and committed teaching approach.

The School

This vibrant three-form entry Infant school, located in Croydon, is known for its warm, nurturing environment and strong sense of community. The dedicated staff team works collaboratively to ensure the best possible outcomes for every child, fostering a culture built on trust, care, and shared purpose.

Children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning from the earliest stages. The school offers excellent facilities from nursery through to Year 2, with a range of well-resourced outdoor and indoor learning spaces. Staff are valued and supported, and ongoing professional development is a core part of the school’s ethos.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in KS1 (preferably Year 2)
