Job summary

TLTP Group is seeking a dedicated Year 5 Teacher for a long-term agency post in Hackney, East London. You will deliver engaging lessons across the KS2 curriculum to a Year 5 class, drawing on strong KS2 knowledge and QTS. The role emphasises inclusive practice and pupil development.

The position runs from November 2026, Monday to Friday, full-time, working alongside the class teacher and school team to support pupils' academic and social progress.

Qualifications

Year 5 Teacher - Key Responsibilities

As a Year 5 Teacher, you will:

• Plan and deliver engaging and creative lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
• Differentiate teaching to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement and progress.
• Assess pupil progress and use this to inform future planning.
• Support pupils with their academic and personal development.
• Encourage pupils to become confident, independent learners.
• Manage behaviour effectively using consistent and positive strategies.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and the wider school team.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers where required.

Year 5 Teacher - About You

The successful Year 5 Teacher will have:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent.
• Previous experience teaching in a primary school, ideally within KS2.
• Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons.
• A positive, enthusiastic and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues.
