Job description

This is a welcoming and inclusive primary school committed to fostering a love of learning in their pupils. We are seeking a motivated and passionate Year 3/4 Teacher to join their team and provide engaging and inspiring lessons that support children in their academic and personal development. This is a maternity cover role that starts September 2025.

Duties as a Year 3/4 Teacher:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Support children in developing strong literacy, numeracy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel supported and valued.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Assess and track pupil progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support.
  • Foster children’s social, emotional, and personal development, encouraging resilience and self-confidence.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
  • Support and contribute to extracurricular activities, school events, and trips.

Ideal Year 3/4 Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching at KS2.
  • A strong understanding of the Year 3/4 curriculum and how to engage and challenge pupils.
  • A passionate and creative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, working effectively with pupils, parents, and staff.
  • A commitment to high expectations and raising pupil attainment.
  • The ability to create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
