Leader Education are recruiting a Primary Teacher who will bring their expertise to an alternative provision in Durham.

This school supports students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, so experience working with SEMH or vulnerable individuals would be highly beneficial.

The provision focuses on helping pupils successfully reintegrate into mainstream education while providing a structured learning environment.

The normal working pattern is Monday-Friday 8:00am until 4pm.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications
  • A current DBS that is on the update system, or a willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience as a Primary Teacher
  • The ability to effectively plan and deliver the curriculum, through creative lessons offering support, advice and guidance to pupils
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents and other professionals
  • Adaptability and initiative to accommodate for various learning type and abilities, striving towards social and academic development
  • High expectations and aspirations for young people and themselves
