Overview

KS2 Teacher - Year 6 - Primary School - Newham (E6). Full Time Term Time Only September 2025 Start. Paid to Scale Long Term to Permanent Opportunity.

Long Term Futures are working with a high-achieving and community-driven primary school in the E6 area of Newham to appoint an experienced KS2 Teacher to lead a Year 6 class from October 2025.

The school has a strong track record of supporting students through their final year of primary education, with a well-resourced curriculum, excellent leadership support and a dedicated intervention programme in place. This role is ideal for a teacher confident in preparing pupils for KS2 SATs, managing a high-expectation classroom, and supporting transition to secondary school.

You will join a team of professionals who value consistency, pastoral care and high-quality teaching practice.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging and challenging lessons in line with the Year 6 curriculum
  • Prepare pupils for end-of-year SATs with clear academic targets and tailored support
  • Differentiate learning for pupils with a range of abilities, including EAL and SEN
  • Monitor, assess and report on progress against school benchmarks and national standards
  • Collaborate with TAs, subject leads and SLT to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning
  • Foster a supportive and positive classroom culture to help build resilience and independence
Ideal Candidate Will Have
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
  • Proven experience teaching Year 6 and preparing students for SATs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and a positive classroom presence
  • Excellent subject knowledge across KS2 core curriculum
  • A reflective, driven approach and the ability to work well as part of a wider team
