We are recruiting for a specialised school in Luton, catering to 48 pupils aged 4-11 with a range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and complex needs. This school is committed to providing a nurturing, inclusive environment where every student is valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential. With a focus on delivering a personalised education that addresses the unique needs of each pupil, helping them succeed both academically and personally.

Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEND Teacher with a primary specialism to join this dedicated team. In this role, you will make a significant impact on the educational and personal development of our pupils, helping them overcome learning barriers and thrive. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, differentiated lessons to pupils aged 4-11 with SEND and complex needs.

You have the option to start in January 2025 or April 2025, whichever suits you best.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of students with SEND and complex needs.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels safe, respected, and valued.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to develop and implement personalised learning plans.
  • Regularly assess and monitor students' progress, providing constructive feedback to students and their families.
  • Utilize a range of teaching strategies and resources to engage and motivate students with diverse learning styles.
  • Support pupils' personal and social development, helping them build confidence and independence.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience working with primary-aged students with SEND, ideally in a special school or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of various SEND conditions and effective strategies to support students' learning and development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of children with SEND.
