Academics is a leading provider of Primary supply teachers and support staff across Hampshire. Our team of supply teachers enjoys flexible work schedules and the opportunity to teach in our client schools in the Portsmouth area. We work with a large number of primary schools that require daily supply teachers to cover lessons across Key Stage 1 and 2.

Responsibilities of a Supply Teacher

1. Be available at least 2 days a week.
2. Live within a reasonable distance from Portsmouth.
3. Have a clear UK DBS check on the update service or be willing to apply for a new one via Academics.
4. Confidently deliver lessons to full classes in both Key Stage 1 and 2.
5. Manage student behaviour effectively within the classroom.
6. Keep students engaged during lessons and adapt your teaching style to varied levels of learners.

You must also have QTS to be considered as a supply teacher in Portsmouth via Academics.

Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are also welcome to apply for supply roles. If you have not yet secured your first permanent placement, supply teaching is a great way to gain valuable experience. It also offers the opportunity to be considered for full-time roles within schools you have worked with.
