Job Advert: Primary Sports Coach

Position: Sports Coach/Teaching Assistant
Location: Sheffield
Hours: Flexible, part-time or full-time options available
Salary: £89.50-£100.00 per day (competitive dependant on experience)

About the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach to join our team and inspire primary school children to develop a love for physical activity and sports! In this role, you will engage with children in a supportive and dynamic environment, leading high-energy coaching sessions while helping them improve their skills, teamwork, and self-confidence. This position also includes some General Teaching Assistant responsibilities, where you'll provide additional support to students in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and age-appropriate sports and physical education lessons, in alignment with the PE National Curriculum for EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Encourage participation in a variety of sports, including football, basketball, athletics, and more.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and motivated.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, and respect both in sports and in everyday interactions.
  • Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate physical activity into the school’s daily routine.
  • Provide progress updates and feedback on students' development.
  • Assist in the classroom, supporting students’ progress in other subjects.

About You:

  • A strong passion for sports and working with children.
  • Previous experience coaching or teaching children, ideally in a school or sports setting.
  • A relevant coaching qualification (e.g., Level 1 or 2 in Coaching, or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate children to remain active and reach their full potential.
  • A DBS check is required (we can assist with this process if necessary).
