Teaching Assistant (SEND Hub) - Stechford

Date: 03/11/2025 - ongoing | Location: Stechford, Birmingham

Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Aspire People are working in partnership with a welcoming mainstream primary school in Stechford that is seeking a dedicated TA to join their on-site SEND Hub.

Role
  • You will be supporting a small group of non-verbal pupils within the school's SEND Hub. The role will involve:
  • Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support
  • Assisting with communication, using tools such as PECs or Makaton (experience is desirable but not essential)
  • Supporting pupils with personal care needs
  • Promoting independence, engagement, and emotional well-being
  • Collaborating with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver high-quality learning experiences
Ideal Candidate
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, ideally in a school or similar setting
  • Comfortable providing personal care
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong understanding of non-verbal communication
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of each child
  • A team player with a positive and proactive attitude
