Primary SEND Teaching Assistant - Harrogate, North Yorkshire

Academic Appointments is working with Harrogate primary schools that are currently seeking full-time/part-time teaching assistants to join dedicated EYFS, Key Stage 1, and 2 teams.

Successful candidates will work in a welcoming environment with enthusiastic staff and strong leadership, focusing on engaging classrooms for children and practitioners alike.

  • Individualised Support: Provide one-to-one or small group support to pupils with SEND, including learning difficulties, communication disorders, emotional and behavioural difficulties, and physical disabilities.
  • Academic Assistance: Support pupils with academic tasks, reinforce learning, and differentiate work based on individual needs and EHCP targets.
  • Learning Environment: Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
  • Behaviour Management: Apply behaviour strategies consistently and handle conflicts promptly.
  • Social and Emotional Development: Support pupils' social skills, emotional well-being, and independence, fostering positive interactions.
