Job summary

Academics Ltd in London is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a Redbridge-based primary school. The role involves day-to-day support, 1:1 and small group sessions, and helping plan lessons with resources.

You will work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to create a happy, inclusive learning environment. The contract is full-time and permanent with a view to long-term development; suitable for someone with SEN TA experience.

Qualifications

• Experience of working within a primary school
• Recent SEN Teaching Assistant experience
• Experience using Makaton, PECS or Colourful Semantics
• Experience working with children with Autism, Down Syndrome, Global Delay, Speech & Language Difficulties, Complex Needs/ Challenging Behaviour, SEMH, EBD, MLD, ADHD or Aspergers
• Open to working with children in EYFS, KS1 or KS2

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support, delivering 1:1 and small group sessions
• Help to plan lessons by preparing resources and materials
• Work alongside the class teacher and SENCO to create a happy and fun learning environment for your key child
• Contribute to inclusive learning and behaviour strategies
• Support training and professional development opportunities offered by the school and Academics Ltd
