Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Numeracy & Literacy Tutor to work with KS1/KS2 pupils on a one-to-one basis, delivering personalized lessons in community settings or at pupils' homes. This contract role is part-time and ongoing, with start date ASAP and flexible hours to suit families.

Candidates should have QTS or tutoring experience, with preferred UK classroom experience. Be creative, patient, and able to work with SEND or disengaged pupils to re-engage them in education.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience.

• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 1-to-1 tutoring sessions with KS1/KS2 students.
• Create and deliver learning plans tailored to individual pupil needs.

Job description

Prospero teaching is currently looking for a tutor experienced in providing tuition to KS1/KS2 students, using a flexible creative and nurturing approach. You will be making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable, disengaged and at risk - students in the early years of their educational journey. The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and be able to create/deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis.

It is Prospero's mission to deliver high quality and engaging support to young people across the UK. As such, we are looking for a tutor who can offer personalized, enjoyable lessons whilst being re-engage these students into education and bring structure into their daily routine.

Experience, Training and Qualifications of the English, Maths and Science Tutor:

• QTS or equivalent or tutoring experience
• Possess UK classroom teaching experience preferred but not essential
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box
• Have experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils

To be eligible for this role, the potential Tutor must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
