Job Description:

A friendly and inclusive primary school in Newham, East London, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate who is passionate about working with children and considering a future in primary teaching. The role is full-time, term-time only, and offers valuable experience in a supportive school environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the curriculum
  • Work one-to-one and in small groups with pupils to support their learning and development
  • Assist in preparing lesson materials and setting up classroom activities
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive learning habits
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of creative learning experiences
  • Provide support to children with additional needs when required
  • Be actively involved in school life, including events and extracurricular activities
Requirements
  • A degree in any subject (education-related degrees welcomed but not essential)
  • Experience working with young people in a paid or voluntary capacity (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, classroom support, youth work)
