Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Loughton, IG10. The role focuses on Phonics experience to support early literacy and classroom routines during term time.

The successful candidate will join a supportive SLT and anticipate a temporary contract from September 2026 to July 2027, with possible extension or permanency based on performance. Hours are 8:30am-4:00pm, Mon-Fri.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year KS1 OR KS2 experience in the UK.
• Phonics experience.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year.

JOB TITLE - Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching is looking for a Strong TA, this role is in Loughton, IG10.

The school is a popular mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. The school is going from strength to strength and providing training to all staff.

Depending on performance the school would look at either extending the contract or offering a permanent position.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum 1 year Key Stage 1 OR 2 experience in the UK
• Phonics experience
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

• Hold Right to Work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child related references that cover at least the last two years

OTHER

The successful candidate will be required to register and have passed all safeguarding/vetting checks with Prospero Teaching in order to fill this vacancy. Any adult working with children and vulnerable young people are responsible for safeguarding and protecting the welfare of the children and young people.
