About the Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen at an Islamic Primary School in Leicester. We are seeking a new KS1 Primary Teacher to join our dedicated teaching staff on a permanent and full‑time basis. The school's Senior Leadership Team (SLT) is looking for a confident and experienced individual to work in our Year 1 class.

Responsibilities

• Teach core subjects such as Mathematics, English, and Science, preparing and delivering lesson plans aligned with the school curriculum.
• Lead the day‑to‑day running of Year 1 class and ensure continual improvement and high‑quality, engaging and fulfilling education within the classroom.
• Coordinate activities and foster a positive learning environment, providing encouragement, motivation and inspiration to young minds.
• Monitor student progress, provide feedback to parents/guardians, and participate in school events such as outings and activities.
• Engage with students, parents, and colleagues effectively, exhibiting excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Qualifications

• QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
• Excellent knowledge of the Primary curriculum and high expectations for pupil behaviour.
• A solid background in Early Childhood Education principles and practices.
• Ability to plan and deliver lessons across different year groups and work in partnership with class TA and other staff members.
• Experience teaching KS1/Year 1 (minimum 1 year).
