Mixed Year 1/2 Class Teacher

Pay: 163 - 223 per day

Location: Cheltenham/Tewkesbury

A welcoming primary school in the Cheltenham/Tewkesbury area is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 teacher to join their team on a full-time basis for Mondays and Tuesdays. This rewarding role is set to commence in September 2025, and Monarch Education has been appointed to assist with the recruitment process.

You will be responsible for a mixed Year 1/2 class, fulfilling the role of the whole class teacher. This will involve the comprehensive planning, preparation, and assessment of all curriculum subjects, ensuring a dynamic and engaging learning environment for both year groups.

The ideal candidate will possess strong behaviour management skills and be available to start in September 2025.

Job Responsibilities

• Planning, teaching, and assessing a mixed Year 1/2 class across all curriculum areas.
• Adapting lessons to suit a variety of learning styles and cater to the diverse needs of pupils, including those with SEND.
• Creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment where all pupils can excel and learn creatively.
• Liaising effectively with the SENCO, Head Teacher, and parents to support pupil progress and well-being.
• The ability to effectively lead and collaborate with classroom assistants to support all children, especially those with additional needs.
  
  

Requirements

• The ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with young children across two year groups.
• A clear understanding of supporting additional learning needs within a mixed-age classroom.
• Commitment to the role for a minimum of one term, starting from September 2025.
