Overview

Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to support the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational Primary Schools in Sunderland from January on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.

About the Role
  • Plan and teach engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils and enable all pupils to make progress regardless of their ability levels.
  • Stretch and challenge the learning and progress of all pupils.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments.
  • Manage challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiate lessons to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
  • Use varied methods of assessment to monitor and report pupil progress.
  • Display high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
  • Work effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure pupils receive the best possible educational experience.
About the School
  • The role is based in an inspirational Primary School in Sunderland.
  • Role may be across any age group from EYFS to Year 6, depending on experience, specialism and preference of the successful candidate.
  • The school has an outstanding supportive culture and Leadership Team, with staff working as a team within classrooms to provide high standards of support to pupils.
Pay, Hours and Contract
  • Pay: Between (Apply online only) per day
  • Contract: Full-time until December with option to extend. Temporary Contract.

Experience, Qualifications and Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service; a new DBS can be processed if needed)
  • QTS and Primary School teaching experience within the UK.
  • Experience of short, medium and long-term planning
  • Experience using a range of methods to assess pupil progress
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • A positive and resilient attitude towards teaching and work
  • Experience of teaching within the UK
