Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is assisting a welcoming primary school in Maidenhead to recruit a Finance Officer on a full-time basis. You will join the administrative team and help manage day-to-day financial operations within a school setting.

You will work closely with the Headteacher and leadership team to ensure accurate records, timely reporting and compliant financial processes. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with experience in education finance and a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Experience in a finance, accounts or school administration role.
• Strong numerical and organisational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
• Good communication skills and a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day school finance administration, including invoices, purchase orders, payments and receipts.
• Processing income and expenditure accurately and maintaining well-organised financial records.
• Monitoring budgets and expenditure, identifying discrepancies and escalating concerns where appropriate.
• Supporting the preparation of financial reports, forecasts and budget information for the Headteacher and senior leadership team.
• Processing supplier invoices and assisting with supplier account queries.
• Maintaining accurate records of school purchases, commitments and outstanding payments.
• Supporting payroll and staff-related financial administration where required.
• Assisting with banking, reconciliations and other routine financial controls.
