Job description

Primary School Class Teachers - Cornerstone Academy Trust
  • Multiple Locations
  • Full Time

Would you thrive working in a dynamic and busy teaching environment where problem solving, creativity, innovation, and forward-thinking are encouraged? If so, we may have the teaching vacancy for you. Having recently expanded from four to seven schools and taking responsibility for regional support through our English Hub, we are looking to recruit several Primary School Teachers for September. Roles are available across all Primary Phases, including Early Years (Nursery and Reception), KS1, and KS2.

Whether you are advancing your career or seeking your first teaching position, working in one of our primary schools with excellent professional development opportunities will support your growth as a teacher. Our Trust's motto, ‘Fortune Favours the Brave,’ reflects our ethos of supporting children to aspire and reach their full potential. Teachers collaborate in team-teaching approaches to deliver a knowledge-rich, purposeful, and project-based curriculum. Through meaningful use of technology, we prepare pupils for the digital world of the 21st century, empowering you to teach innovatively, reflectively, and collaboratively within cross-Trust teams.

Our teachers deliver high-quality lessons and projects that blend physical and digital learning environments, utilizing video calls and online resources. This digital approach has also streamlined assessment through our digital assessment suite, allowing in-class progress tracking and tailored planning for each child's needs. Additionally, we foster a strong coaching culture that supports all staff and students.

Our regional DfE curriculum hub offers opportunities to showcase your practice and engage in professional development to reflect and grow in your career.

Each school serves a different community, providing diverse opportunities for career development. The Trust is well-resourced, with dedicated libraries, a 1:1 digital device program, specialized learning spaces including TV studios, science and art rooms, outdoor learning, and forest school areas.

Our schools feature dedicated nurseries with strong Early Years teams, extensive outdoor education, and a rich program of trips and residentials. Sport is integral, with over two hours weekly, including activities like climbing, kayaking, cycling, fencing, golf, and competitive team sports. We emphasize holistic development, including arts, music, languages, and core literacy and numeracy skills, supported by our own bus service, wrap-around care, family dining, and extra-curricular activities.

We invite you to bring your skills, talent, and passion to enhance our wide-ranging offer, ensuring every child's needs are met. A Cornerstone school is a place where you can flourish as a teacher.

Positions are available from September 2025, with a mix of fixed-term and permanent roles. Please specify your preferred Key Phase(s) and location(s) (Exeter, Exmouth, North Devon) on your application.

We offer enhanced pay and conditions, including a health scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, electric car scheme, performance-related pay, and subsidized meals prepared by our staff café. Successful candidates will receive state-of-the-art IT equipment and work in modern, digitally enabled classrooms with Microsoft Surface devices. We support ongoing professional development through weekly training, an online portal, and tailored support for ECTs, including mentoring and specialist sessions.

Visits to schools are welcome by prior arrangement. We look forward to your application and the possibility of welcoming you to our team.
