Job description

Position: Primary School Support Assistant

Location: Carmarthen

Contract Type: Full time & Part time availability

Salary: From 88.92 per day


Role Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Assistant to join our team. This role involves working with pupils across various key stages, from nursery classes up to Year 6 (KS2). You will be providing 1:1 support to pupils with Additional Learning Needs (ALN), including Autism and ADHD.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide individualized support to pupils with ALN, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
  2. Assist in the implementation of personalized learning plans.
  3. Work closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive classroom environment.
  4. Monitor and report on pupil progress and development.
  5. Foster positive relationships with pupils, encouraging their social and academic growth.
  6. Support pupils in developing coping strategies and self-regulation skills.

Requirements:

  1. Relevant experience working with young children in an educational setting or similar setting.
  2. Enhanced Child workforce DBS (If you do not have one, you will be required to take a new DBS at 61.30 which will be refunded once completed 10 working shifts).
  3. EWC registered or willing to register with EWC for 15.
  4. Attend an interview via Teams meeting or in person.
  5. Fluent Welsh Speaker (Desirable).
