Location: Hythehill School Lossiemouth Moray, IV31 6RF

Salary: £27,426.75 - £29,632.20 per year pro rata

Contract Type: Permanent

Position Type: Full Time

Hours: 36 hours per week

Job Description

To ensure the effective administrative functioning within the school and to develop and implement administrative policies and procedures within the school.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Head Teacher and Senior Management Team in introducing, maintaining and reviewing administrative policies and procedures within the school.
  2. Provide appropriate financial information and administrative advice for the Head Teacher and the Senior Management Team within the school.
  3. Ensure the effective management and maintenance of the Seemis Management System within the school.
  4. Manage all general clerical and administrative functions within the school.
  5. Adopt procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  6. Participate in the Council's Employee Review and Development Programme.
The Individual
  1. Experience in administrative and clerical work including financial management systems, composing letters/reports, record keeping, filing and dealing with the public.
  2. Recognised typing / word processing qualification (e.g., typing RSA stages 11 or SCOTVEC Text Processing Certificates).
  3. Experience of Microsoft Office including software packages such as Excel and Access.
  4. High level of accuracy in work.
  5. Ability to prioritise workload.
  6. Ability to use initiative in day to day tasks.
  7. Ability to participate as a team member.
  8. Self-confidence.
  9. Self-motivated.
  10. Strong customer care skills and focus.
  11. Effective organisational skills including time management.
  12. Appreciation and acceptance of, and commitment to the importance of confidentiality.
  13. Good knowledge of software packages – e.g., Microsoft Office / XP / Frontpage.
  14. Ability to demonstrate a high standard of numeracy and literacy skills.
  15. Flexibility and adaptability.
  16. Willingness to accept direction/delegation.
  17. Understanding of and ability to demonstrate key interpersonal skills, both on the telephone and face to face.

Starting Salary: £27,426.75 (pro rata)
£14.55 per hour
36 hours per week - (47.15 week contract, i.e., term time working plus balance of days to be worked during school holiday periods.)
