Teaching Assistant - Primary Resource Base (SEND)
North Edgbaston Full-Time Long-Term Role
Start Date: 01/09/2025-ongoing

Are you a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with complex additional needs? Aspire People is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a specialist resource base within a mainstream primary school in North Edgbaston.

About the Role:
Full-time, long-term position starting from 1st September 2025
Supporting pupils with significant additional needs, including non-verbal communication, Down syndrome, and complex learning difficulties
Working in a well-established resource base that supports pupils from Reception to Year 6
Up to 13 pupils in the room at a time, supported in smaller groups for focused learning and interaction
Delivering and supporting small-group activities, play-based learning, and individual interventions as directed by teaching and SEND staff

About You:
Strong experience supporting children with SEND, especially non-verbal pupils and those with Down syndrome
Confident using or supporting alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables
Able to engage children in small group activities and promote inclusion and participation across a wide age range (Reception-Year 6)
Resilient, nurturing, and calm with a proactive and adaptable approach to changing needs
Passionate about making a meaningful difference in children's educational and emotional development
