Job summary

Avara Foods in Hereford, Herefordshire is recruiting for Night Hygiene Operatives. No prior experience is required as full training is provided; you will help maintain hygiene standards and comply with food safety rules while reporting to the Team Leader to support a safe, efficient site.

Responsibilities

• Achieve hygiene standards with the Hygiene team and follow health and safety and food safety rules.
• Meet individual and department targets and manage material and energy usage.
• Support continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity.
• Handle manual tasks with plant and equipment and isolate machinery when required.
• Maintain housekeeping and hygiene standards as a team member.
• Follow food safety and HSE guidelines and carry out management instructions.

• Mon -Thurs 21:00-05:00 / Friday 17:00-01:00 £1.61 shift premium

About The Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will play an instrumental part in achieving the required hygiene standards with the Hygiene team for Avara Foods. You will adhere to health and safety at all times and follow all tasks in line with food safety rules.

• Understanding and attainment of both individual and department targets.
• Awareness of the usage of material and energy sources.
• Co-operate in the continuous improvement of quality, safety and productivity standards.
• Manual handling of plant and equipment
• Isolation of plant and machinery
• To meet housekeeping and hygiene standards individually and as part of a team.
• Compliance with food safety and HSE guidelines
• To carry out instructions as given to you by your Team Leader/Management

A Little About Our Hereford Site

The Hereford plant is our largest site and processes chicken products across two factory facilities, Grandstand Road and Yazor Road. Grandstand handles processing, whole bird production and portioning, with Yazor responsible for portioning and added value. Across the whole site approximately 1,500 people are employed and it processes 1.9m birds per week.
