Job description

Job Title: Distribution Planner

Contract: Full Time, Permanent, 4 on 4 off days and nights rotating shift

Do you have distribution planning experience within a fast-paced transport office and are seeking a new challenge?

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Distribution Planner to join our Logistics Planning team at our Head Office in Bolton, working a 4 on 4 off days/nights shift rota.

With a fleet of over 900 vehicles and one of the UK's largest independent distribution networks, we are proud to deliver freshly baked products daily to over 17,000 customer stores across the UK.

Keeping our nation's eggs in soldiers, you'll be proud of keeping our trucks moving and our customers happy.

The Recipe

Our Logistics Planner is responsible for creating and coordinating the daily transport and resource plan within our primary network, working closely with transport and manufacturing teams, ensuring compliance, and managing in-day changes to the plan. This role is fast-paced and involves planning for over 200 primary drivers daily across our national distribution network. It is pivotal in ensuring Warburtons maintains and enhances our customer offering of fresh products across the UK, delivered on time and in full.

You will work as part of a busy and collaborative planning team, requiring a methodical and organized approach with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workloads. You will collaborate closely with bakery and manufacturing teams to ensure compliance with plans and manage in-day adjustments.

We are committed to investing in our future, and our Logistics Team is fundamental in supporting our business objectives. You will join a forward-thinking, highly driven team dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. We seek passionate, resilient, and innovative individuals who thrive on challenges.

Working across the UK network, you will develop a good understanding of locations, routes, and the national road network. Your focus will be on keeping our supply chain moving and our customers satisfied, building strong relationships internally and externally, providing key metrics daily, weekly, and periodically, reporting issues, and managing costs.
