Primary-Level Tutor – Bury (BL9)
Flexible, rewarding work supporting pupils outside the classroom
£25–£30 per hour | Flexible weekday hours | Home or community-based settings
If you're someone who enjoys helping children build confidence and overcome learning barriers, this could be a really fulfilling role for you.
We’re looking for experienced tutors, teachers or teaching assistants to support pupils across Bury (BL9) who are working at a primary level, even if they’re of secondary age. Many of these learners aren’t currently in mainstream school – this might be due to anxiety, additional needs, or gaps in education – and they need a bit of extra support to help them progress.
This is a chance to work in a more focused, one-to-one environment where you can really make a difference.
Providing personalised English and Maths tuition at a primary level
Working with pupils up to age 16 who may be behind expected levels
Delivering sessions in the pupil’s home or in local spaces like libraries
Creating a positive, calm learning environment that helps build trust
Supporting pupils with a range of needs, including SEN or SEMH
You don’t need to be a qualified teacher, but experience working with children is essential.
You’ll need to feel confident teaching at primary level, and be patient, flexible and encouraging – especially when working with learners who may have had difficult experiences in education.
This role would suit someone who:
Has experience teaching or tutoring at KS1 or KS2 level
Can adapt lessons to suit individual needs and learning styles
Is comfortable working independently and managing their own schedule
Has worked with children with additional needs, anxiety, or low confidence
Wants to focus on meaningful progress rather than ticking boxes
£25–£30 per hour, depending on your experience
The flexibility to work part-time or full-time hours around other commitments
The chance to work locally across the Bury area
Fewer admin demands than a classroom-based role
Ongoing support from a friendly and knowledgeable team
Access to training and CPD through our platform
