Job summary

Academics are seeking an experienced Primary HLTA to join a welcoming school in Thurrock, starting ASAP on a long-term contract. You will take responsibility for classes during teacher absence and deliver engaging lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

The role offers a long-term placement with potential development, competitive daily rates, and ongoing consultant support to align with your career goals. Prior HLTA/TA experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Experience covering classes in a primary school.
• HLTA/TA experience or cover supervisor experience.
• Confidence taking responsibility for a class without the teacher present.
• Experience across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 is preferred.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Ability to follow and deliver planned lessons.
• Calm, confident and adaptable approach.
• Genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
• Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable.

Responsibilities

Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Primary HLTA to join a welcoming school in Thurrock, starting as soon as possible on a long-term contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA or confident Teaching Assistant who enjoys leading learning, taking class responsibility and making a real difference to pupils' progress.

As a Primary HLTA, you will play an important role within the school, working closely with class teachers and the wider support team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for classes during planned teacher absence
• Covering lessons across the school
• Delivering engaging and purposeful learning activities
• Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2

What We're Looking For

• At least 3 months' experience covering classes within a primary school
• Previous experience working as an HLTA, experienced TA or cover supervisor
• Confidence taking responsibility for a class without the class teacher present
• Experience across EYFS, KS1 and/or KS2
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• The ability to follow and deliver planned lessons
• A calm, confident and adaptable approach
• A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
• Experience supporting children with SEND would be highly desirable
