About the Role - Primary HLTA

Take your teaching career to the next level! We're seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join a thriving primary school in Islington. This is an excellent opportunity to lead learning, cover classes, and make a significant impact on children's educational journey.

  • Salary: £100-120 per day (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Location: Islington, London
  • Contract: Long-term, full-time
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, term-time only
  • Start Date: September 2025
  • Age Range: Primary (4-11 years)

What You'll Be Doing

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons to whole classes under minimal supervision
  • Cover classes for absent teachers with confidence and authority
  • Lead small group interventions and support programmes
  • Assess, monitor and provide feedback on pupils' progress
  • Support teachers with curriculum planning and resource preparation
  • Mentor and guide other teaching assistants
  • Contribute to whole school initiatives and development

What We're Looking For

  • Significant experience as a Teaching Assistant in primary education
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver effective lessons
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS (required)
  • Right to work in the UK (sponsorship not available)
  • Experience leading interventions or small group work
  • Knowledge of current primary curriculum and assessment methods
  • Experience mentoring other staff
