Job Title: Primary Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Bowers Gifford
Salary Range: £90-£130 per day (Depending on Experience)
Start Time: September 2025 (or earlier if available)

GSL Education are welcoming applications for a passionate and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a supportive primary school in Bowers Gifford.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is confident in leading learning activities and supporting pupils in their classroom journey.

About the Role:

As a Primary HLTA, you will play a key part in supporting both pupils and teachers in the classroom. You will take on teaching responsibilities when needed, deliver small group sessions, and help create a positive learning environment where every child can succeed. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a real difference in children’s daily school life.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons to full classes during teacher absence.
• Support individual and small group learning activities.
• Help manage behaviour and promote a calm and focused atmosphere.
• Assist teachers in planning, assessing, and adapting learning materials.
• Encourage pupil participation and engagement across all abilities.
• Communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and families.

Job Requirements:

• HLTA qualification or equivalent experience leading lessons in a primary school.
• Sound understanding of the primary curriculum and teaching strategies.
• Strong behaviour management and classroom support skills.
• Friendly, caring, and patient approach towards children.
• Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
