Job summary

Supply Staff Ltd is seeking experienced Primary Cover Teachers to work across Croydon’s primary schools. You will provide day-to-day and short-term classroom cover, following lesson plans and maintaining pupil engagement. Strong classroom and behaviour management skills are essential, with DBS checks and safeguarding commitment.

QTS or teaching qualifications would be an advantage but are not essential. Pay ranges from £120 to £180 per day, with reliable daily pay and ongoing consultant support

Qualifications

• Strong previous experience working with children in a school or educational setting.
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
• Confident working independently and taking responsibility for a classroom.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional needs would be ideal.
• QTS, teaching qualifications or other relevant education experience would be an advantage but are not essential.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom cover across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Cover lessons on a day‑to‑day or short‑term basis, including sickness cover.
• Follow existing lesson plans and school guidance.
• Maintain strong classroom management and positive behaviour.
• Keep pupils engaged and focused throughout lessons.Support pupils with SEN and additional learning needs where required.
• Work effectively with teachers and school staff to maintain continuity of learning.
