Primary Classroom Assistant - Bath

Do you have a passion for supporting primary school children with Learning Difficulties, including Autism, and Speech, Language & Communication needs?

* Start ASAP
* Bath – BA2
* Excellent on-site training, support, and CPD are provided to ensure safeguarding of all students
* Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 3:30 pm, term time only
* £90 - £100 per day, dependent on experience
* Essential experience within a challenging yet rewarding setting is ideal for aspiring Psychologists

A Primary Classroom Assistant role is an excellent way to gain experience and network within educational and psychological fields, providing opportunities to work closely with professionals and expand your skillset.

Career progression routes include Teacher, Special Needs Teacher, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist, and various Child Psychology and Educational Psychology routes.

Job Role and Responsibilities:

• Assist the class teacher in providing the learning experience of students
• Behaviour and pastoral support
• Work 1:1 and in small groups with students
• Ensure safeguarding of students
• Attend staff meetings and complete appropriate paperwork

A great Primary Classroom Assistant will have:

• Enhanced DBS Check (We can assist with this)
• Graduate in a relevant field such as psychology or criminology OR a good education background (GCSE’s in Maths and English) plus prior experience working with children with special educational needs
• Ability to build robust and effective relationships with students
• Practical approach to meet individual needs of students
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Caring, compassionate, and a good listener
