As a growing school, having opened in September 2020 with a cohort of Reception children, we are now looking for a new teacher to join our team in September! Job Purpose:

The post holder will take responsibility for the teaching of a class of children determined on an annual basis by the Principal in accordance with the duties listed.

Main Activities and Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
  2. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and deliver it effectively to the pupils.
  3. Provide a broad and balanced curriculum for the children, in line with school policies and practices.
  4. Direct the use of support staff assigned to the class.
  5. Have high expectations of pupils in terms of their behaviour and achievement.

Qualifications and Training:

  1. First degree.
  2. Qualified Teacher Status.
  3. Must have taught Key Stage 1.
  4. Experience in teaching in a state primary school.

Professional Knowledge and Understanding:

  1. Ability to present and speak to members of the public, stakeholders, and school community in accurate spoken English.
  2. Must understand expectations set out in the Ofsted Framework.
  3. A sound knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  4. An excellent understanding of curriculum and effective pedagogy.
  5. Understanding of current good practice in learning and development.
  6. Knowledge of phonics teaching.
  7. Knowledge of effective strategies that meet the needs of all pupils including: EAL, SEND, PP, more able.
  8. Understanding and commitment to implementing school policies: participation in and implementation of School Behaviour Policy, awareness of health and safety in the workplace, implementation of equal opportunities policy.

The successful candidate will be subject to enhanced clearance through the Disclosure and Barring Service and employment will be subject to references.
