Role: Primary Care Recovery Worker (Alcohol and Drug Recovery Services)

Location: GCHSCP, Festival Business Centre, 150 Brand Street, Glasgow, G51 1DH and Rowan Park Business Centre

Contract Status: Permanent

About the Service

Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Recovery Service (ADRS) collaborates with GP enhanced services offering Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT standard 7) to patients in the community.

A new support model has been developed to assist GPs and individuals on MAT, leading to the creation of the Primary Care Recovery Worker role. As a Recovery Worker, you will support individuals with low to medium support needs receiving MAT in the community, working closely with their GP.

Location and Coverage

The team is based centrally within Glasgow City, supporting shared care GPs and their patients across North East, North West, and South Glasgow.

Candidate Requirements
  • Commitment to supporting people who use drugs and/or alcohol.
  • SVQ Level 3 in Health/Social Care or equivalent (essential).
  • Lived or living experience of recovery from drug and/or alcohol problems will be considered (desirable).
  • Membership of the PVG Scheme is essential upon appointment; candidates will need to cover the cost of PVG checks.
Additional Information

These roles are covered under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended). Interviews are scheduled for July 2025.
