Job summary

Hetton Group Practice is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician to join our friendly clinical team. You will be registered with GPhC and either have completed or be willing to undertake the Primary Care Pharmacy training pathway, working alongside the Clinical Pharmacist, GPs, nurses and a multidisciplinary team to optimise medicines in our practice.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
• Meets the qualification and training requirements for Pharmacy Technician registration.
• Completed, undertaking, or willing to undertake an approved Primary Care Pharmacy training pathway (e.g. PCPEP).
• Evidence of continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Support the safe, accurate and effective use of medicines within the practice.
• Support medicines optimisation and prescription management.
• Undertake medicines reconciliation after hospital discharge and transfers of care.
• Assist with prescription processing and queries.
• Contribute to medication safety audits and quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records and clinical coding.
