Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Preston, a Category B Prison located in Preston. HMP Preston is a remand male prison with age 18+ and a capacity of 680. The primary care nurse will be based in the healthcare department with some expectations to work on the wings.

Hours: This role is based on 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday 7.30am – 8.30pm, with 2/4 weekends a month. 6 weeks in advance scheduling.

Salary: This is a full-time position with an annual salary between £33,232 and £40,211 per annum FTE, depending on experience.

Main duties of the job
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse-led service and prevent hospital admissions
  • Undertake medication rounds, dispense controlled medication, respond to emergency situations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening
  • Deliver nurse-led clinics to your patient group, supported by a multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide outstanding evidence-based care, personalise care by listening to feedback and focusing on what matters to patients
  • Deliver non-judgemental care and strive for excellence
  • Forge strong links with partners and stakeholders to inspire excellence
  • Promote best practice, clinical supervision, evidence-based care and continuous quality improvement
  • Share knowledge and skills to ensure safe care within strong multi-disciplinary teams
