To provide high-quality front-of-house and administrative support to patients, visitors, and the clinical team at Aspley Medical Centre. The Primary Care Navigator is a key part of the practice team, ensuring patients are welcomed and supported efficiently, with empathy and professionalism at all times.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors politely and professionally
- Answer telephone calls, manage queries and transfer calls as necessary
- Book, amend and cancel appointments via SystmOne
- Deal with requests for urgent appointments and signpost appropriately
- Handle face-to-face, telephone and online queries in a calm and efficient manner
- Ensure all messages and communications are accurately recorded and passed on to the appropriate staff
Administration Duties
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, including scanning and filing
- Assist with prescription requests, referrals, and online communications
- Process tasks and messages via AccuRx, Communication Annex and Emails
- Update patient records accurately in line with GDPR and confidentiality policies
- Maintain the reception and waiting room area in a tidy and welcoming condition
Systems and Software
- Confidently use SystmOne, AccuRx and Emails
- Carry out regular checks on appointment books, clinics, and tasks
- Support clinical and management staff in the smooth operation of daily workflow
Teamwork and Flexibility
- Be willing to work flexibly to cover sickness or annual leave when required
- Attend regular team meetings and training sessions
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues and clinical staff
- Respect the roles of others and work collaboratively
