Job description

To improve access to mental health care for people with mild to moderate or stable severe mental health problems by delivering holistic assessment, and evidence based care to clients within the context of a multi-disciplinary multiagency primary mental health service.

  • Do you have a genuine interest in working with people who are experiencing mental health difficulties within the primary care setting?
  • Do you work well with individuals on a 1-1 basis and in group situations?
  • Are you forward thinking, and highly organised?

If so we would welcome an application from you.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner to work in our ambitious Primary Care Mental Health Services. Applications would be welcomed from Nurses, Social Workers, Occupational Therapists with experience of working in relevant mental health settings.

The successful applicant will need to have the relevant qualification to undertake assessments under Part 1 of the Welsh Assembly Government Mental Health Measure. This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. Whilst the candidate doesn't need to have skills in Welsh, we'll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn't 'fluency', just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means being able to communicate in Welsh during routine clinical situations, such as welcoming patients, discussing straightforward aspects of their care and answering routine questions. If you're comfortable holding everyday conversations in Welsh, we encourage you to apply. Your Welsh language skills will help us provide person-centred care and enable patients to receive services in their language of choice. Have a look at our 'Croeso Candidate' booklet below for more information.
