Job summary

Woodbank Surgery in Brandlesholme, Bury, United Kingdom, invites a motivated Clinical Pharmacist to expand the role in primary care. You will conduct structured medicines reviews, support prescribing, and guide the clinical team on cost-effective prescribing.

This patient-facing role requires UK registration with GPhC, an MPharm, and CPD activity; independent prescriber status is desirable. You will work with GPs, care homes, MDTs, and the ICB team to optimise medicines management and contribute

Qualifications

• Masters degree in Pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent
• Registered with GPhC
• Member of RPS
• Evidence of recent CPD
• Independent prescriber status or willingness to undertake the course
• Effective interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills
• Ability to communicate information to patients clearly
• Knowledge of medicines management across primary, acute and domiciliary care
• Understanding of National and local primary care policies
• Ability to work under pressure and prioritise urgent tasks
• Experience in diabetes would be beneficial

Responsibilities

• Structured Medications Reviews
• Assist the Prescription team with queries
• Attend regular in-house MDTs
• Work with ICB Medications Management Team to ensure formulary adherence
• Carry out audits when required
• Help deliver targets in the Prescribing Quality Scheme
• Help deliver targets in QOF and IIF
• Work with care homes to ensure optimal prescribing
• Advise GPs and other clinical staff
• Develop and maintain policies and protocols relating to medicine management
