Job description

Job title: Pricing Manager

Locations: Manchester (flexible hybrid)

Role Overview

This role is for Atlanta Group, part of the Markerstudy Group.

We have an exciting new opportunity available for a Pricing Manager to join our team at Atlanta, part of the Markerstudy Group.

Your role involves developing and delivering pricing solutions through effective management of a team of analysts, aiming to maximize Markerstudy's strategic goals and annual plans. You will also influence strategy by identifying opportunities and communicating them to the Head of Pricing and Executive Committee.

This position requires industry-leading techniques and best practices, including price optimisation using WTW Radar software. It combines a hands-on technical approach with team development and management.

As a Pricing Manager, your core responsibilities include:

  1. Leading and managing the development of effective solutions that meet business requirements and provide value
  2. Ensuring quality assurance processes are followed and risks are managed according to policies
  3. Promoting the use of best practices and maintaining standards within the team
  4. Fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  5. Becoming a recognised expert in your team's area of expertise

You will also be responsible for developing Markerstudy's pricing capabilities by:

  1. Implementing predictive models and price optimisation techniques
  2. Evaluating and improving methodologies
  3. Utilising available data sources and identifying new opportunities
  4. Providing detailed analysis to solve complex business problems
  5. Delivering management information on KPIs
  6. Querying large databases for relevant data
  7. Maintaining knowledge of Markerstudy and the wider insurance market
  8. Communicating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams
  9. Representing the Pricing Team in cross-functional projects
  10. Staying updated on industry best practices
  11. Coaching and mentoring analysts
  12. Managing and developing the analyst team
  13. Contributing to the wider analytic and customer community
  14. Supporting tactical and strategic decision-making
  15. Deputising for the Head of Pricing

Key Skills and Experience:

  1. A degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, Operational Research, or a related scientific discipline
  2. Experience in analysis and statistical model building
  3. Significant experience in the insurance industry
  4. Proven ability to apply market-leading techniques creatively to solve problems
  5. Strong communication skills, capable of presenting to senior management
  6. Action-oriented team player with a focus on measurable improvements
  7. Experience managing and developing teams
  8. Experience with price optimisation, preferably using WTW Radar Optimiser
