As a Pricing and Promotions Analyst, you will:
- Propose prices and implementation plans aligned with Midcounties' long-term pricing strategy by analyzing internal and external data, considering margin mix by category to help achieve budgeted input margin.
- Support the Price and Promotions Manager in creating member deals, projects, or adhoc work such as price optimization, round pound, price investment, or category deep dives.
- Use Brandview and Data Warehouses to assess Midcounties' pricing position versus the marketplace and provide recommendations based on insights.
- Complete the Promotional Claim Form to recover credit from FRTS for supplier-funded promotions, accounting for over £20m annually.
- Manage price and margin in Midcounties Fuel sites daily, using competitor data and global oil prices to inform decisions that meet budgeted margins.
- Run weekly performance analyses against the Food forecast, including in senior management reports and MI, identifying trends and opportunities.
- Monitor price changes within the marketplace using Brandview to identify trends and opportunities.
- Use Retail Express to forecast the impact of proposed pricing changes on profitability and sales before implementation.
Who are we looking for?
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Previous experience in a Pricing role with expertise in financial modeling and high-accuracy analysis.
- The ability to distill complex analysis into clear findings and actionable recommendations.
- Essential food retail experience and knowledge.
- Excellent customer service skills, confidently discussing food provenance and its points of difference.
- The ability to deliver high standards, making decisions based on insights and feedback to improve performance.
