Location: Helensburgh (Hybrid – 2 days onsite, 2 days remote)
Work Schedule: 4-day workweek (Monday – Thursday)
Role Overview
As a Project Accountant (Pricing), you will play a crucial role in shaping pricing strategies and managing financial operations for major defence and space projects. Your responsibilities will include:
Proposal Management & Pricing
- Supporting the FP&A Manager in leading financial and business aspects of proposal management.
- Developing complex pricing models for large multi-year programmes.
- Ensuring compliance with internal and customer pricing policies.
Business Strategy & Analysis
- Conducting business case analysis and cost modelling.
- Performing cash flow analysis and shaping bid strategies.
- Supporting risk and opportunity assessments.
Stakeholder Engagement & Compliance
- Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on pricing issues, including Single Source Procurement Regulations.
- Liaising with Single Source Regulations Office, Cost Assurance & Analysis Service, and other key stakeholders.
- Presenting proposals to internal approval boards and supporting customer interactions.
Continuous Improvement & Growth
- Leading pricing function transformation efforts.
- Collaborating with Global Business Development & Strategy to support future business growth.
- Assisting in the setup and handover of new contracts.

Required Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Project Accountant or Pricing Analyst background with demonstrable experience of complex/highly regulated contracts.
- Knowledge of the Single Source Pricing Regime and statutory guidance.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to brief complex commercial issues to senior management and provide mitigation.
- Highly proficient Microsoft Excel modelling skills.
Desired Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
- Professional qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or similar).
- Experience with MOD / DE&S contracts policy.
- Proven experience in a customer-facing capacity, preferably with MOD.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks/priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently without appreciable direction.
- Knowledge of rate structures and their construction.
