GENERAL INFORMATION

JOB TITLE: Price Risk Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Price Risk Manager will develop energy price risk management strategies and products and will provide energy price related advice to clients. This position will assist in establishing World Kinect Energy Services' as a market leader in the provisioning and customer centric risk management tools covering natural gas, electricity and other related energy fuels across 25 European markets. There is a high expectation of collaboration within the team as well as with the wider company, particularly Client Managers, Supply & Trading, Settlements, and IT support service functions.

Responsibilities
  • Proactively manage customer positions within approved mandated boundaries by either performing transactions with suppliers and other financial counterparties or appropriate communication with the client.
  • Remain informed as to all market conditions and regulatory policy which may impact customer positions and expectations on the services Portfolio Management provide.
  • Perform continuous market quantitative modelling to ensure price risk management techniques and strategies remain current and in line with the customers' expectations.
  • Deliver presentations to both internal and external customers, disseminating information such as market fundamentals analysis, approved forward price views, and performance of portfolios under management.
  • Maintain systems, tools and reports as required to ensure the efficient delivery of the Portfolio Management service to our customers.
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure continuous improvement in Price Risk Management services, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop customer relationship.
Information Processing
  • Quantitative analysis of market price, demand and supply data from various sources such as, but not limited to, LSEG Workspace Montel, ENTSOe, ENTSOg, regulators, energy suppliers and financial institutions to formulate price views and hedging strategies to support customers in protecting their energy budgets.
Latitude
  • The role needs to work within the boundaries set out by the Mandate, a contractual document agreed by both the customer and the World Kinect Corporation).
  • The individual will be able to discuss and debate their own view to allow the team to formulate a single view to be disseminated to our customers.
  • Albeit this individual will not need to be explicitly governed by the FCA it would be beneficial for the individual to work within the same principals and ethics.
Individual Impact
  • The Price Risk Manager directly contributes the primary business offering of World Kinect Energy Services by filling an integral role and shaping the company's internal decision making and outward facing messaging regarding the energy marketplace.
Supervisory / Leadership Responsibility
  • This position will provide critical analysis and insight which will have a high level of influence on Kinect Leadership and Customers decisions.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (BS, BA, etc.). Engineering, Marketing, Finance or other business-related discipline (Finance, Economics, or Energy related preferred).
  • 2 to 5+ years energy related experience in a risk management, asset optimization or trading analytics role.
  • Special Training, Licensure, or Credentials / Specialized Expertise: The Price Risk Manager needs experience with providing advice to clients regarding financial derivatives and physical structured products to clients in the natural gas and electric markets.
  • In activities or situations this position applies or uses specialized expertise: knowledge of Financial Conduct Authority principles and ethical policies would be an advantage (not an explicit requirement).
  • Experience: proactive, able to make decisions under tight deadlines in a high-stress market; able to collaborate and constructively debate own views.
  • Professional work experience of at least 2 years within trading or risk management in energy-related organizations (supplier, Third Party Intermediary, or wholesale energy marketer).
  • Strong financial acumen, interpersonal, analytical, presentation and organizational skills; ability to conduct business-level meetings and communicate effectively; strong decision-making ability; ability to translate problems into financial terms.
  • Ability to create, understand and interpret quantitative models; some coding such as SQL is beneficial.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to engage with senior management; professional engagement, presence and integrity.
  • English and a second European language (e.g., Dutch, German or Italian) is preferable.
Travel

Moderate - Occasional travel which may be planned or on short notice. A requirement of the job, but not a significant job component. Includes international travel as necessary. Travel as required by client needs.

Work Schedule

Typical - Position may occasionally work past the normal workday and/or may occasionally perform some work on weekends as is typical of most employees. Not significant intrusion into personal or family life.

Comments: Part of a global team so may be required to attend meetings, or collaborate with colleagues, or customers, in other timezones.
