Job Description

• Foster in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals, supply chain, end-uses, and key participants for technology and energy metals, such as cobalt, lithium, minors, and rare earths.
• Collect pricing data and set price assessments in line with the company’s methodology, price specifications, principles, and IOSCO standards.
• Write market commentaries, breaking news, and insightful copy with a focus on price reporting angles.
• Support colleagues on their pricing patches to ensure market coverage and build a broader knowledge base.
• Peer review prices to verify adherence to processes and editorial judgment, ensuring prices are representative.
• Manage and expand industry contacts for submitting pricing data and providing news exclusives.
• Respond to inquiries from contacts and the market regarding pricing sessions, seeking guidance on sensitive issues.
• Contribute to Fastmarkets’ prices and expertise through market engagement activities.
• Present at events, webinars, and chair panel discussions as appropriate.

We are looking for:

• Proficiency in written and spoken English; knowledge of another language is a plus.
• An interest in and understanding of financial markets and commodities.
• Pricing and journalistic reporting experience are advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong networking and communication skills, with a confident telephone manner.
• A team player who promotes a positive working culture, acts courteously and professionally, with integrity.
• Ability to work with numbers, spreadsheets, and produce analytical editorial content.
• Willingness to undertake business travel by plane, train, or car.

Candidates should be able to work at a desk on a computer for extended periods and must pass an in-house writing test.
