Violence Reduction Service, Murray Royal Hospital

Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) Assistant Advisor, Band 6

An exciting new opportunity has been made available to help support NHS Tayside in meeting its statutory obligations in reducing violence and restrictive practices across all service areas in the health board.

The Assistant Advisor will work closely with the Advisor in the development, implementation, and review of Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression (PMVA) training and management systems across Tayside. This role will be line managed in the Work force directorate through the Health and Safety service with reporting arrangements to the Nursing directorate through the Associate Nurse Director for Mental Health.

The assistant Advisor will act as deputy to the Advisor at internal and external meetings in the Advisors absence and will be involved with the Advisors work relating to wider H&S team data collection and reporting systems.

The Assistant Advisor has no line management responsibility but will support the Advisor in the allocation and supervision of work to a PMVA team consisting of one Band 5 practitioner and two Band 4 trainers.

The Assistant Advisor will support the PMVA team in the organisation and delivery of PMVA training across services in NHS Tayside which will take the form of lecture style presentation delivery as well as physical personal safety and restraint training.

The Assistant Advisor will support the Advisor and wider team in conducting, monitoring and reviewing risk assessments relating to PMVA hazards across services in NHS Tayside.
