Job description

Press Tool Setter/Operator, West Bromwich, £13-14.10 per hour

My client manufactures metal pressings and assemblies for a wide range of customers. They are looking to expand their team and wish to recruit a proven and experienced Press Tool Setter/Operator.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring all press setting is carried out safely and in accordance with health and safety regulations, including ROSPA certificates, guard cards, and oil cards.
  2. Carrying out machine settings using best practice techniques.
  3. Maintaining customer and company quality standards.
  4. Training operators on new sets regarding job operations, paperwork, and gauging requirements.
  5. Performing daily TPM checks on equipment.
  6. Upkeeping machines and reporting issues promptly.
  7. Completing tooling and maintenance job cards accurately and communicating issues to relevant departments.
  8. Checking and replenishing oils, greases, and spill kits weekly.
  9. Identifying and reporting health and safety hazards, adhering to all policies.
  10. Communicating effectively within and outside the organization.
  11. Preparing and, if trained, operating forklifts or other equipment to assist in setting and handling parts.
  12. Undertaking training on new equipment and sharing knowledge with team members.

Machine scope includes 80t to 400t progress presses (training provided if needed) and 2t to 5t forklifts (training provided).

Shift options are 6am-2pm, 7:30am-4:30pm, or 2pm-10pm, with flexible arrangements. Training hours are 7:30am-4:30pm Monday-Thursday and 7:30am-12:30pm Friday, for a minimum of 6 weeks depending on experience.
