Job summary

Ball Corporation in Devizes, United Kingdom is seeking a Manufacturing Operator - Press Operator to control the production of cans from aluminium slugs through the washing and lacquering process, ensuring the final product meets customer requirements.

You will set up, operate and clean a press machine, take measurements to verify quality, record data, and follow Works Orders. The role includes a rotating day/night shift pattern (6am-6pm and 6pm-6am) on a 4-week cycle.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or mechanical-biased role is mandatory.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment is preferred.
• Good written and spoken English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and clean a press machine that transforms aluminum slugs into cans.
• Carry out measurements on cans to ensure they meet specifications and quality expectations.
• Perform basic mechanical tasks and apply mechanical knowledge during operations.
• Accurately record all production data in the required format at the required interval.
• Verify correct production information against Works Order.
• Constantly look for opportunities to improve the process or product.
