Due to continued growth and upcoming expansion within the M&E sector for our client business, they are seeking an enthusiastic, hands-on, and proactive engineer to join our team. The role will initially be workshop-based, focusing on servicing, calibrating, and repairing our fleet of press tooling equipment while building product knowledge. Following comprehensive training and ongoing support, the successful candidate will take a lead role as the champion for our press-fit and technical M&E products, providing key support to both warehouse operations and customer-facing teams. They are looking for someone to take ownership and help them develop this new growing and exciting part of the business.

Press Fit Lead Engineer Job Overview

1. Ensure equipment is clean and well-presented at all times
2. Inspect and test returned hire equipment (full training provided)
3. Calibrate tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability (training provided)
4. Carry out PAT testing in line with safety standards (training provided)
5. Perform repairs on press-fit tools (training provided)
6. Collaborate with the team to develop and enhance systems and procedures
7. Use computer-based systems for administrative tasks and record-keeping
8. Proactively research and gain in-depth product knowledge, becoming the go-to expert for related products
9. Provide support across warehouse, workshop, and delivery operations as needed
10. Take the lead in establishing a dedicated 'Press Station' and help deliver repair and calibration services to our customers
11. Coordinate the return of customer equipment and assist with customer inquiries alongside the sales team

Press Fit Lead Engineer Job Requirements

1. Ideally, the candidate will have experience with M&E and press-fit equipment; however, full training will be provided for the right individual.
2. Background in maintaining and/or repairing a variety of equipment and tools.
3. Mechanical and/or electrical experience is preferred.
4. Experience in testing and calibrating both in-house and customer equipment would be an advantage.
5. A practical mindset with the ability to work efficiently, methodically, and hands-on.
6. Proficient computer skills.
7. General business awareness or experience is desirable.
8. Supervisory experience is beneficial, though not essential. The ability to lead by example, hold team members accountable, and foster a positive working environment is key.
9. Eagerness and willingness to learn new skills.
10. Physically fit and a dependable team player with a strong work ethic.
11. Strong verbal communication skills.
12. A proactive, can-do attitude with a willingness to support the wider team as needed.
13. Ability to take ownership and responsibility for their area, contributing to the success of the business.

Press Fit Lead Engineer Salary & Benefits

£35,000-£40,000 salary dependant on experience
40 hour working week (Flexible on working hours)
